Cellphone SIM Cards in Hottest Test

SIM cards in mobile phones can survive heat at up to 450 degrees celcius and possibly beyond, a finding that should help probes into terror attacks and other crimes.

University College London Electronic Engineeers Subjected SIM cards to heat and found that six cards heated to around 180 C could be read after rewiring with no loss of data while one of five cooked 450 C could be read, the AFP reported.

You have to take care of your SIM card. The study is not yet final. And the scientific evidence pointing to the heat test endurance may still be debated over and over.

I would suggest that you put into writing all your phone numbers, emails and other infos stored in your mobile phone. Just in case.
After all, the best storage data remains in a dirty ink.
