Preparation Is Key To Succesful Job Interviews

To jump start your IT career, it is not enough that you have with you during job interviews the best well-prepared resume. Of foremost importance is mental toughness and psychological readiness, meaning you are ready for any job interview questions that may be thrown at you without showing any vestige of doubt and uncertainty about yourself. While your resume mirrors what is knowable about you, your ability to answer an employer’s question will confirm whether you are what you are as you claimed in your resume.
I know from experience that when you apply for a job and later being called for an interview, it’s a make-or-break scenario. Preparation is the key to any successful job hunting. Supposed you’re a Java programmer and you’re applying for an IT job and one day, right before you, is your future employer who just wants to test your knowledge of Java by cracking simple or complex questions. What could have you done before that day? You need to rehearse possible java interview questions that may pop up during a casual conversation type of interview or formal interrogation into your skills. Or if you are an applicant for a J2ee job, of course you need to rehearse likely j2ee interview questions that will be grilled upon you.
Hurdling job interviews is no rocket science in the same way that passing an exam does not need to have an Einstein-replica of brain. It all boils down to preparation, mental readiness, visual anticipation of what is likely to happen. Even sports icons use this strategy to win any competition. Not only that they are physically prepared to slug it out but more so, they are trained mentally to expect the unexpected, making pictures in their minds of the possible things that could happen.
This is all part of the so-called “marketing your strength” and the best time to do that is during job interviews where you assert that you are the best person for the job. Remember that companies are looking for your credentials and personality and they will immediately know what stuff you are made of by the brilliant, impressive way you answer interview questions.
