Transfer to Another Web Hosting Provider

Webmasters are often confronted with the harsh reality of a poor service and customer support from webhosting companies. While it is true that there many web hosting provider that make their customers happy 24/7 365 days, there are some providers that only look good on their promises but not on the actual delivery of service. These unethical webhosts are only interested in getting a customer in but once the customer has paid the bill they do not deliver the service they promised to give.
When website owners are trapped in such a difficult situation, and if their web hosting provider does not improve their service and continue to ignore calls for help, webmasters have the best and last recourse: that is to transfer to another web hosting provider. And many webhosting providers would love to assist a dissatisfied client from another hosting firm.
One of the incentives offered by webhosting companies is a free website transfer. This includes free transfer of a site’s database, script, files, documents, images. The process can be overwhelming to a newbie webmaster, and webhosting companies understand the complexity and the effort of transferring files from one server to another. If a webmaster is on a shared hosting account, transfer can be done easily via a cpanel/whm feature. I don’t know how it is done with the other webhost softwares, but whm/cpanel has made it a breeze to migrate files from one cpanel to another.
If you are in this kind of situation and you are confused, just contact your new webhosting provider and provide them all the server information (cpanel, login details) of your account with your current host. It may be premature to tell your current host that you’re moving out. Just keep it a secret at this stage. Wait until your new hosts have transferred all the files, scripts and databases, and say bye-bye to your uncaring webhosting company.
