Web Guide Simplies Your Internet Experience
- 0 Comments
The world wide web that we know of today is not the web that it was 15 years ago. So much changes, brought by technological advancement and diversification of users’ demands, had come to the web. These changes prompted geeks to seek new ways to deal with an ever increasing piles of information.
In the beginning, there were no search engines. More than one and a half decades ago, a life in the net without Google, Yahoo, or Bing was imaginable. There was no demand for an organized method of delivering data to web users. After all, there were few webpages that existed at that time. In fact Yahoo was first created not as a search engine but as a web directory, a simple web directory reminiscent of our old landline phone directory. Yahoo, since then, has so evolved it’s difficult to trace its early footprints in the world wide web.
As the world experiences a tremendous multiplication of information, it became necessary that data had to be logically organized. Your net experience would not have been simple without search engines and web directories as your web guide. While search engines cater to the general type of users, web directories may focus on a particular niche. Search engines cache web pages that will be served to users who want to find a particular information using certain keywords. On the other hand, web directories compile listing of quality of website addresses based on specific categories to guide people as to which websites they should go when they need information or products and services.
Today it is unimaginable to use the net without the presence of search engines and web directories. These two have simplified our experience of the world wide web. Without them as web guides, it would have been chaotic and disturbing to surf the net. It’d be like being left in the dark grappling for the right direction as you brave the uncertainties of your search activities.
As people and the world are recipients of constant changes, the web is likely to go along the changes. Whatever technological changes that may arrive in the future, web directories and search engines will always remain a paramount necessity in our endless quest for the right information out there in the labyrinth of billions of web pages.
